Before you buy
Questions,
answered.
The things people ask us on the phone, written down. If yours is not here, ask it — we answer enquiries the same working day.
Ordering and pricing
Do the prices on the site include delivery?
No. Listed prices are the unit price in AUD. Delivery is quoted separately against your postcode and site access, because a 20ft container going to a Brisbane yard is a very different job to one going onto a sloping block west of the range.
Can I get a discount for buying several units?
Yes. Multiple units, staged delivery and repeat business are quoted as a package. Send the list and the delivery schedule and we will price the lot.
How do I pay?
Payment is by bank transfer or PayID against an invoice. We do not take card details over the phone or by email. The invoice carries the order number and payment reference.
Delivery
Can the truck get into my property?
Usually, but it depends on access width, overhead clearance, ground strength and turning space. A photo of the gate and the track saves a wasted trip. We check access before quoting delivery rather than after.
Do you use a crane?
Where the truck cannot reach the set-down point, or where the unit has to go over a fence or onto a tight block, we arrange a crane. That is quoted as a separate line so you can see the difference.
How long does delivery take?
Stock units are typically dispatched within a few working days of payment clearing, subject to truck availability. Modified units are scheduled from the workshop completion date.
Conditions
How are used containers graded?
By what they will do, not by how they look. Cargo-worthy units are wind and watertight and structurally sound. Grade A units are the tidiest used stock. Surface rust, dents and faded paint are normal and are photographed on the actual unit.
Are containers wind and watertight?
One-trip and Grade A units are. Used units are inspected for door seals, roof integrity and floor soundness, and any fault found is either repaired or disclosed before sale.
Modification
Can you cut windows and doors into a container?
Yes, and it is the most common thing we do. Every opening is reinforced and flashed so the frame keeps its strength and water stays out of the lining.
Do I need council approval?
Often, depending on the use and the local government area — particularly for habitable conversions. We will tell you what is typically required, but approval is the owner's responsibility and should be confirmed with your council before work starts.
Hire
What is the minimum hire period?
It depends on the unit type and is stated on every hire quote before you commit. Short-term event hire and multi-month site hire are priced differently.
What happens if the unit is damaged on site?
The hirer is responsible for the unit while it is on site, fair wear and tear excepted. Every unit is photographed before delivery and at collection, and a bond is held against the comparison.
Still deciding?
Send the size, the site and what it is for. We will tell you what works and what does not.
