10ft Containers

Small-format containers for tight sites and storage yards. 4 products. Prices are in AUD and exclude delivery, which is quoted to your postcode and site access.

A 10ft shipping container is the size that fits where a 20ft will not. If your driveway is narrow, the gate is only 3 metres wide, or the only flat spot on the block is behind the shed, a 10ft is usually the difference between getting storage on site this month and not getting it at all. They hold around 16m³ — roughly a single garage bay of volume — and sit on a footprint about the size of a small car.

What a 10ft container is used for

  • Residential storage for renovations, a downsizing move, or gear that has outgrown the shed.
  • Site tooling and lock-up where a 20ft would block the access track.
  • Small trade stock — landscapers, electricians and mechanics who need a weatherproof lock-up near the job.
  • Garden and equipment storage on acreage where a permanent shed is not approved yet.

New or used: how to choose

New 10ft units are one-trip or new-build and come with clean paint, a straight frame and doors that shut without effort. Used 10ft containers come out of shipping service and are graded on shell condition, door seals and floor soundness. A wind and watertight used unit keeps stock dry and secure for years; a cargo-worthy unit has been assessed as fit to go back to sea in a freight container sense.

If the container is going to be visible from the house, spend the extra on new. If it is going behind a shed and just needs to keep rain out, a graded used unit does the same job for less.

What to check before you order

Every 10ft container we sell is inspected before it leaves the yard: doors swung, seals checked, floor sounded and the frame photographed as found. You get the photos before we book freight, so there are no surprises at the other end.

Access is the thing people underestimate. A tilt-tray needs a clear run of roughly 20 metres and enough width to swing. If the truck cannot get to the drop point, a crane unloads from the street instead — tell us about tight gates and overhead lines when you ask for a price and we will quote the right method first time.

Delivery Australia-wide

Units are released from our Queensland yard and delivered to every state and territory. Queensland sites generally run on our own trucks; interstate moves on scheduled freight, with the booked window confirmed in writing before dispatch. Delivery is quoted against your postcode and site access, and is separate from the unit price shown above.

Related sizes and services

If 16m³ is too tight, look at 8ft x 10ft containers for an even smaller footprint, or step up to 20ft containers for roughly twice the volume. For height rather than floor area, see high cube containers. We also hire 10ft containers short and long term, and modify them with doors, windows, insulation and power.
