A container pool is a shipping container converted into a swimming pool shell — cut and reinforced for the water load, lined, plumbed and fitted with filtration. It arrives as a finished pool that can be craned into place and commissioned, rather than a construction project on your block.
Why people choose a container pool
- Speed. No excavation, no formwork, no concrete cure. A shell can be set and filled in days.
- Relocatable. In many situations it can be lifted and moved, which a concrete pool cannot.
- Predictable cost. You buy a finished shell, so the unknowns are delivery and site access rather than ground conditions.
- Above or below ground. The steel shell works either way, subject to engineering and approval.
What to plan for
Approvals. A pool is a pool for regulatory purposes regardless of what it is made of — expect to need council approval and compliant pool fencing. Check with your council before ordering; we do not give planning advice.
Access. This is the one that catches people out. A 12m pool needs a crane and a clear lifting path — overhead lines, trees and fence lines all matter. A crane that has to set up 30 metres away from the drop point needs a bigger crane, and that is a cost you want to know before you buy.
Engineering. A pool full of water is enormously heavy. Above-ground installations and sloping sites need specific engineering. Ask what the shell is rated for and have a local engineer confirm the footings.
Services. Filtration, pump, heating and dosing all need power, and the plant area needs to be somewhere you can reach for servicing.
What is included
Our pools are supplied as a complete, plumbed shell. Confirm at the quote stage exactly what is in the price — shell, liner, filtration, pump, and whether commissioning is included — because packages differ and the exclusions are where budgets blow out.
Container pool versus fibreglass
Fibreglass is cheaper in a straightforward backyard with good access. A container pool wins where access is reasonable but you want speed, where the pool may need to move, or where the industrial look suits the property. Steel shell pools also handle being craned into a tight spot that a one-piece fibreglass shell cannot reach.
Delivery Australia-wide
Released from our Queensland yard and delivered to every state and territory. Pool delivery is quoted separately against access and crane requirements — this is not a tilt-tray drop.
